USDA’s federal recordkeeping rule for private applicators of restricted use pesticides (7 CFR Part 110) was rescinded effective July 11, 2025. Why a farm needs it

Where time is usually lost and fines come from

A paper notebook, then retyping into a spreadsheet in the evening

An entry is made once – in the field from your phone, or in the evening from your computer.

The registration number is copied from the container

You pick the product from the register and the number is filled in for you.

Mistakes in the tank math

The amount is calculated from the rate and the acreage, and one tank is split across several fields.

Crop harvested before the pre-harvest interval was up

The end of the interval is calculated from your entry, and the reminder comes in good time.

Applied a product whose registration had been canceled

GrangeBook warns you if a registration has been canceled or an existing-stocks period is running.

The inspector asks for the season’s spray records

A file for the chosen period and fields is ready in a minute.

Orchard and vineyard

Frequent applications by growth stage, short pre-harvest intervals before picking and strict checks from buyers.

  • Variety and BBCH stage in the entry
  • End of the interval and a reminder
  • Orchard sprayer calibration
A self-propelled sprayer on a large field

Contractor

Other people’s fields, your own crew and equipment. The client’s spray record is ready along with the invoice.

  • Clients and their inventory kept separate
  • Jobs for operators and checking of entries
  • Estimate and client report for a period

Questions

What people usually ask before signing up

What if there’s no signal in the field?

You can enter the application later, from your phone or computer. The date and time are the real ones.

What happens to my data?

You can export all your data at any time, even without a subscription. Old documents still open after your plan ends. You can delete the account with one button.

Does switching from paper or a spreadsheet take long?

A field is created from a name and an area, without a map. A list of fields uploads from CSV or Excel. The first entry takes a couple of minutes.

Does this replace the official form?

GrangeBook keeps the spray record from your entries and exports it to Excel, so it is machine-readable. If your country has an official form, you can fill it in on the GrangeBook website.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The account works in a browser on your phone and computer. Sign in with Google, Apple or email.

Does it work with my team?

Free: two people per farm. On the paid plans there is no limit on people, and the Team plan adds roles and checking of entries.
